Realtek RTL8180L 1.73 network card driver Description
The Realtek RTL8180L is a highly integrated and cost-effective wireless LAN network interface controller that integrates a wireless LAN MAC and a direct sequence spread spectrum baseband processor into one chip. It provides 32-bit performance and PCI bus master capability. With full compliance to IEEE 802.11 and IEEE 802.11b specifications, the RTL8180L delivers wireless Ethernet networking at speeds of 1, 2, 5.5 or 11 Mbps.
The RTL8180L supports short preamble and antenna diversity and builds in an enhanced signal detector to alleviate severe multi-path effects. For security issue, the RTL8180L implements high-performance internal WEP engine supporting up to 128-bit WEP.
The RTL8180L supports an enhanced link list descriptor-based buffer management architecture. It contributes to lowering CPU utilization and heightening system performance.
The RTL8180L provides support for Advanced Configuration Power management Interface (ACPI), PCI power management system for modern operating systems that are capable of Operating System directed Power Management (OSPM) to achieve the most efficient power management possible. In addition to the ACPI feature, the RTL8180L supports remote wake-up (including AMD Magic Packet and Microsoft wake-up frame) in both ACPI and APM environments.
The RTL8180L keeps network maintenance costs low and eliminates usage barriers. Adopting a 0.18ìm CMOS manufacturing process and packaged in a 128-pin LQFP, the RTL8180L features compact size and ultra low power consumption, providing the world's most competitive solution for design of WLAN applications.
